Storyteller. Actress. Human.
From the beginning, even before I entered this world, my grandma would read me enchanting stories, planting the seeds of imagination. As I grew older, she would invite me to join her in front of the television, where we would immerse ourselves in the captivating narratives of Turner Classic Movies. I marveled at how these tiny figures, confined within the confines of the screen, could tell tales that resonated with every human being. While watching the timeless classic "It's A Wonderful Life," one day, I turned to my granny and said, "Granny, I want to do that too." Curious, she asked me, "What exactly is 'that'?" I didn’t know what “it” was at that moment either. I aspired to be one of those gifted individuals who could mesmerize the world with their storytelling. Her smile of encouragement became the catalyst that propelled me toward my dreams, ultimately leading me to cross paths with the remarkable Morgan Freeman and go on a journey as an actress on her cherished shows, including the beloved "Queen Sugar," "New Amsterdam," and many more. It seemed only natural that my ambitions would encompass every facet of this art form, which brings us together in this moment today. I am immensely grateful that you have taken a fleeting moment to peak into my little world, and I warmly thank you for it.
Much love,
Keturah Maree K.M. Colley
“For what it’s worth... it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.”
